for everyone
Kwick Sew 3299. This is my first T shirt and first sewing for DH. Ran out of sale fabric after pre-washing/drying so used a different color for sleeves and trim.

Full view of finished sleep shirt. I altered the pattern length and made a slit on both side seams for ease.

Front (right) side view: I serged on most of the neck binding except for that area around the V. I took in the binding bulk and used my sewing machine to adjust the V neck binding so that it laid flat.

Back (wrong) side view: I used my sewing machine. First I used an overlock stitch so that I could see what I was doing under the pressure foot on that V neck area when I attached the binding (darker thread). Next I used it with a straight stitch to take in the V neck binding so that it laid flat. I would like to learn how to serge the entire binding on my next project.

The serge edges were too bulky to fit under the pressure foot without jamming so I started a few inches away and then serged to the seam. It still jammed a bit. Then I tried using a folded scrap to get it started and it did better but I need some practice.

Here is the underside of the 2 needle cover stitch hem. I wasn't sure how to handle the short thread tails that occurred after I used a folded scrap to get it started.

Thanks, I just started serging and need all the help I can get. The pictures are a big help since I'm a visual learner.
